Captain Meg Lanning’s half-century (55) helped Delhi Capitals beat Gujarat Giants by 25 runs thanks to some strong bowling by Josh Jonasson and Radha Yadav. This is Delhi’s third win in four matches and the team has reached the top position in the points table.
Being asked to bat first, Delhi put up a challenging total of 163 for 8 in their 20 overs. Meg Lanning scored 55 runs off 41 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. She was well supported by Alice Capsey who scored 37 runs from 17 balls. Though Meghna Singh picked up four wickets, the Gujarat Giants were unable to restrict the Delhi Capitals to a low score.
In response, Ashleigh Gardner was the one waging a lone battle as she managed to score 40 runs from 31 balls. Apart from her, no other batter managed to get going as Gujarat crashed to their fourth straight loss in the tournament so far.
