Suriya is currently wrapped up in promotions of his upcoming film “Kanguva” which is scheduled to release on the 14th of November. Suriya has been hyping up the promotion of his film among the audience mainly because of coming back to the theatre after two years. Directed by Siva, Kanguva is set to be a massive historical epic with a blend of other elements like drama, action, and fantasy. This period-action marks Suriya’s 42nd film and expected to be one of his promising projects. One thing that has caught the attention of the movie is the physical transformation of Suriya for this movie.
But who knew he would be an even better husband? Suriya recently moved to Mumbai to be with his wife Jyothika who is pursuing her career in Bollywood. Suriya opened up about his married life and his past experiences with his wife. He shared about how he didn’t feel like a hero when his wife used to earn three times more than him. The actor said a few years back Jyothika’s pay for a movie was three times more than his.
Recalling the time when he was working alongside her wife in a Tamil movie, Suriya said, “I knew Tamil, I was supposed to be an actor’s son, but I was fumbling, forgetting my lines, and I didn’t know how to act. It was my third or fourth film. I had a lot of respect for her work ethic, she would know the lines better than me. She would learn them by heart and was quite sincere,” Suriya said. Further on, the actor added “She skyrocketed to success and I took five years to stabilise. It took me some time to call myself a hero and have my market. In Kaakha Kaakha (2003), her salary was three times higher than mine. I also realized that time when I was in life. She was ready to be a part of my life, her parents had also agreed and I realized what I was earning and what she was earning. I realized I had to pull my socks and I had to be equal to her, at least be able to protect them. Eventually, it all happened,” added Suriya.
Men who appreciate their woman’s work and personality instead of despising them are hard to find nowadays. And Suriya proves to be anything but insecure about her lady.
