VVS Laxman will continue as NCA chief; despite IPL rumours

India’s legendary cricketer VVS Laxman will continue as the chief of the National Cricket Academy. Their tenure has been extended by one year. Questions were being raised about whether the 49-year-old Laxman would continue as the NCA chief. There were reports that he had received an offer from an IPL franchise to become the head coach.

However, with Laxman continuing as NCA, the suspense regarding IPL coaching has ended. Laxman assumed the post of NCA President in November 2021. The three-year contract was to expire in September. The contract has now been extended for a year.

VVS Laxman will work with old mates

VVS Laxman may have Shitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Hrishikesh Kanitkar as assistant coaches at NCA. Bahule and Kanitkar have served India at the international level while Kotak is a big name in domestic cricket.

VVS Laxman needs no introduction in Indian cricket. He played an important role in taking Indian cricket to new heights at the international level.
