Virat Kohli is the first Indian batsman to score 12 thousand runs in T20s

RCB’s most experienced batsman Virat Kohli has reached a new milestone in the first match of the new IPL season. Virat has become the first Indian batsman to complete 12000 runs in T20 cricket.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 21 against Chennai Super Kings at the Chidambaram Stadium. However, in these short innings, Virat broke a new record. Ajinkya Rahane fielded the ball on the boundary and Rachin Ravindra completed the catch. So Virat Kohli had to return to the tent.

Virat Kohli has become the second fastest to reach 12000 runs in his innings of 21 runs. Virat missed the chance to break Chris Gayle’s record. Virat Kohli crossed the 12,000 run mark in T20 cricket after scoring six runs against the Chennai team.

Virat became the first Indian batsman and the sixth batsman in the world to do so. Before him, Gayle, Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik, West Indies’ Kieron Pollard, England’s Alex Hales and Australia’s David Warner have done this feat. Along with this, it is special that Virat has played the least innings while doing this performance. Virat has done this in 360 innings. At the same time, Gayle is number one in this regard. Gayle had completed 12 thousand runs in just 345 innings in T20 cricket.

1000 runs against Chennai

Apart from this, after scoring 15 runs, Virat also completed a thousand runs against Chennai Super Kings. Virat is the top run-scorer in these two teams. Virat is sixth in the list of over 1000 runs against any team in the IPL. Warner has scored more than 1000 runs against Punjab and Kolkata. At the same time, Shikhar Dhawan has scored more than a thousand runs against Chennai and Rohit has scored more than a thousand runs against Kolkata. Before Chennai, Virat had scored more than 1000 runs against the Delhi team.
