The match started late Sunday night in New York and lasted for more than 2 hours. It showed the dominance of the top-ranked Sinner. He won the first set 6-3. He then took the lead by winning the second set 6-4 and won the final set 7-5. American player Taylor Fritz reached the final after 18 years. However, Taylor Fritts fell short of winning the first Grand Slam title. Earlier, Andy Roddick of America reached the final in 2006.
