Denice Zamboanga’s Strategy Too Predictable For Rasshoyna

Denice Zamboanga believes Alyona Rassohyna’s lack of activity will impact their upcoming title match. On Friday, Jan. 10, Zamboanga will face Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27 in Bangkok, Thailand, to determine the interim ONE atomweight MMA world title. The two MMA standouts will clash for the first time. Rassohyna will be fighting for the first time in over three years, which Zamboanga believes will benefit her.

Rassohyna last competed in 2021, splitting back-to-back battles with Stamp Fairtex, the current undisputed atomweight MMA queen. Rassohyna’s victory might lead to a trilogy match with the Thai fan favourite. Of course, that is far easier said than done. Denice Zamboanga has been a top performer in the atomweight division since her promotional debut in 2019. She’s defeated Jihin Radzuan, Mei Yamaguchi, and Watsapinya Kaewkhong.

‘The Menace’ is on a three-fight winning streak, defeating Lin Heqin, Julie Mezabarba, and Noelle Grandjean. Zamboanga was originally scheduled to fight Stamp for the atomweight MMA world title at ONE 167. Stamp sustained a torn meniscus weeks before the fight and was unable to participate. Zamboanga won decisively against Grandjean. If she can make it four in a row, ‘The Menace’ will face Stamp.

Denice Zamboanga relies on speed

After the three-sport great is cleared to return in 2025. Fans in the US and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 27 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, January 10 during U.S. primetime. Zamboanga told The MMA Superfan while discussing the advantages she’ll have come fight night, “I also feel that her being inactive over the past few years while I have been fighting. Those are the advantages that I think I’ll carry.”

Denice Zamboanga took a break from her busy training routine to respond to China’s Meng Bo, who recently criticised the Filipina boxer. Meng recently aimed Zamboanga, claiming she can finish her in two rounds. Zamboanga is the top-ranked female atomweight, while Meng is second. Both women enjoy trading punches, making for a potentially explosive clash if a bout occurs.
