Two thousand runners participate in the ‘Run for Equality’ marathon

Two thousand contestants participated in the marathon competition organized on the 133rd birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Ambedkar Medics Association, All India Doctors for Equality and Agitation, Maharashtra State Backward Class Electricity Workers Association, PES Parivartan organized the Run for Equality Marathon competition.

This competition was conducted in two distances – 5 km and 10 km. Municipal Administrator G Srikanth, Deputy Collector Suchita Shinde, Governor of Government Medical Hospital Shivaji Sukre, Deputy Executive Officer of Smart City Ravindra Jogdand, Joint Director of ‘SAI’ Sumedh Tarodekar, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Jalna Nanda Gaikwad, Ironman Praful Jatale flagged off the marathon competition.

Aniket Jangle and Tanishk Indore won first and Tanishk Indore in the under 16 men’s category in 5 km race while Jayashree Narode won first and Dhanashree Gujrane won second in the women’s category.

Arjun Shinde won first place, Angat Kanhere won second place in men’s category above 16 years of 5 km distance and Aarti Thokal won first place, Gitanjali Raut won second place in women’s category.

In the men’s category, Rameshwar Munjal won the 10 km marathon. Sheku Wagh bagged the runner-up title. In the women’s category, Amrita Gaikwad won the title and Deepali Bhosale won the runner-up title.

Distribution of Prizes
Prizes were distributed to the winners of this competition by Rahul Jawle, Principal TA Kadam, Chief Engineer Bhujang Khandare, Bhaskar Khaire, Abhay Pandit. A notebook and a pen were requested to be donated as registration fee for the competition. It was said on behalf of the organizers that the donations of books collected will be given to needy children.

On this occasion, a workshop was conducted by the team of psychologists Sujata Jhine and Preeti Bhagyawant, while the participation of Cyclist Foundation in ‘Run and Ride for Equality’ was significant. Participants were given medals, snacks, and energy drinks. The message of inculcating the idea of equality was given through this marathon.

Jyoti Khandare, Amit Jogdand, Dayanand Kamble, Manisha Ambhore, Avinash Kamble, Manish Bagul, Laokik Khandare etc worked hard for the success of this marathon competition.
