Jadon Sancho was sensational. The Englishman ran PSG ragged as Dortmund beat Paris 1-0. Sancho was clearly the star of the show. He was declared the man of the match and even his critics can’t help but laud this exceptional performance. He looks like a completely new player now. Ever since he’s left Manchester United (albeit on loan), he’s looked rejuvenated and relaxed. He is brimming with confidence. Many football fans and pundits have begun questioning Erik Ten Hag’s role in freezing Sancho out. A player as talented as him must be provided with the right environment to grow.
Sancho’s Scrap With Ten Hag
The 24-year-old had a falling out with his manager earlier this season. It all began when Ten Hag put Sancho under the bus after United’s defeat to Arsenal. Sancho immediately hit back on social media. This whole incident led to the Dutch manager freezing the City Academy product from the first team. For months, Sancho trained with the u-21s. After all the drama, he was shipped back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund for a loan spell and he’s done brilliantly there. An assist in his first game was a sign of great things to come. Sancho has been brilliant for Die Schwarzgelben. He takes players on now, something he never did at Manchester United. His loan move has practically resuscitated his career.
Full Focus On Final
Sancho is a unique player. He needs a certain amount of cajoling. When he feels that the manager and the team are backing him, he delivers. However, his confidence also takes a toll because of external circumstances. Sancho must find the right environment for his growth. Right now, he will be focusing on taking Dortmund to the Champions League final. A possible reconciliation for Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United is for later. Right now, all he’d want to do is take the Black and Yellow to their first Champions League final since 2013.
