Diljit Dosanjh has created history after he announced the Indian Leg of his DIL-LUMINATI Tour and the Indian fans couldn’t get a grip after. The tour will be kickstarting on October 26 in Delhi with one of the biggest setups ever, followed by many other cities.
Diljit Dosanjh had one of the most successful year of his career and It’s not unfair to say that it is Diljit Dosanjh’s world and we’re just living in it. The Punjabi Popstar sold one lakh tickets in India for his pre-sale and went sold out just sixty seconds after they were made available for normal bookings, which is quite unsurprising. The tickets were priced as high as 1699, and yet all were sold out in the blink of an eye. An insane craze like this has never been seen before by any Indian artist and might remind people of the craze for the World Cup.
But the Frenzy show of tickets booking and getting sold out had mixed responses from the people. Some people bought five to six tickets to resell it later for higher prices. Many Influencers slammed the artist for pricing tickets this high in such economy of our country, honestly, I couldn’t agree with them more.
Diljit Dosanjh who prides himself on being a fan of his fans, appeared indifferent to how they might feel when many were unable to afford even the gold section of his concert. For a middle-class individual, opportunities to enjoy entertainment in their native language are rare, Diljit Dosanjh’s concert is one of those few, but seeing people not being able to attend due to the steep prices is truly disheartening. I truly acknowledge that Diljit is among the most prominent Indian pop stars in today’s generation, but setting such high ticket prices in your own country feels unfair. It creates the impression that you’ve lost touch with your roots and the fans who have supported and loved you from the beginning of your career.
The singer who made his international debut with “Punjabi Aagye Coachella oye” hasn’t stopped till then. He has become a global sensation with both crowd and heart-winning performances one after another. From doing the bhangra at Coachella to appearing on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, this man was truly “Born to Shine”.
