Dana White made some pretty big claims about the upcoming blockbuster UFC 306 event which has everyone pretty gassed. It has been regarded as one of the if not the most groundbreaking sporting events of all time. The UFC event will be conducted inside the newly constructed Las Vegas Sphere and the whole event is touted to be one of its kind. It will be the world’s first-ever sporting event held inside the sphere in the World’s fight capital, Las Vegas.
In the post-match conference at UFC 303, at which Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira head-kick K.O.’ed Jiří Procházka, to retain his light-heavyweight championship, Dana White made a few statements when asked about the Sphere and UFC 306, which has got MMA fans all over the world talking. Some of these claims might sound exaggerated, but Dana isn’t a man who would exaggerate much, and even if he does do it sometimes, it’s never at this scale.
When asked about the event and its magnitude, Dana had this to say, “First of all, I will tell you this about the Sphere. It will be the biggest gate of all time, number one. Number two, it won’t be the greatest UFC event of all. It will be the greatest sporting event of all time.“
Well, those sure are big claims but it didn’t stop there. Another reporter asked Dana White about the recently concluded NBA Draft which took place inside the Sphere and was the first ever live event that took place inside. Dana White compared the upcoming UFC 306 event and the NBA Draft event, stating that the latter would seem like a kid playing with crayons in comparison to the former. He said, “What I did see was how they did the rankings or the draft thing went all the way up. That’s going to be like fucking kids playing with crayons compared to what we’re going to do.
literally, kids playing with crayons.”
Dana White explains The Mexican factor for UFC 306
Further, Dana White explained the Mexican factor involved in UFC 306. Saying, “The baddest human beings that have ever walked the face of the earth are Mexican. Mexican people are very tough, durable people that work hard. Um, you know, they support each other. And, um, very loyal to other Mexican people. They’ll work hard all week and spend their entire paycheck to support other Mexican people. And this show is literally gonna be a love letter to the people of Mexico, their history, their heritage, their toughness, their durability, and their future. I’m telling you, bless you, sir(referring to a Mexican reporter).”
With statements as such, Dana White, just like all UFC enthusiasts seems quite excited for the UFC 306 event to unfold on September 14, 2024. Now it remains to be seen if the Riyadh Season Noche UFC event holds true to it’s hype.
