Serena Williams Is Redefining Beauty Standards

Serena Williams accepted having body image issues in the past. The problem deteriorated when she compared herself to her older sister Venus, who she thought had more model-like features. Serena has openly discussed her issues with body acceptance throughout her childhood. Her athletic build, particularly toned arms, and powerful legs, made her feel self-conscious. She once avoided exercising weights at the gym due to concerns about her appearance.

The veteran tennis player eventually accepted her body and began to value herself for who she was. Williams is largely recognised as one of the greatest tennis players of the Open Era. Since her professional debut in 1994, the 43-year-old has won 23 Grand Slam titles. Her record of 367 victories in all four Majors makes her the most successful female tennis player.

The former World No. 1 is the only male or female player to complete the Career Golden Slam. Winning all four Majors and Olympic gold in both categories. Williams, who played her final match at the 2022 US Open, frequently provides glimpses of her life on social media, particularly with her children Olympia and Adira. The 43-year-old elegantly soaked in the sun while wearing trendy black sunglasses.

Williams Sparks Debate With Candid Remarks

At 23, she came to terms with the fact that she didn’t resemble her elder sister physically. Serena Williams said “I was 23 when I realized that I wasn’t Venus. She’s different. I’m super-curvy. I have big boobs and this massive butt. She’s tall and she’s like a model and she fits everything. I was growing up, wanting to be her, wanting to look like her. I was always fitting into her clothes, but then one day I couldn’t. But it’s fine. Now I’m good, but it’s a weird thing.”

Serena Williams launched Serena Ventures, a venture funding business focused on early-stage firms headed by women and minorities. Despite her demanding entrepreneurial career, she prioritises spending time with her children Olympia and Adira. In October, the 43-year-old discussed the problems of combining her career and motherhood on X.
