Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde congratulated shooter Swapnil Kusale. The latter has won the third medal for India and his first medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. He won bronze in the Men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions. The Maharashtrian shooter has made the country proud with his achievements. It has been announced that the shooter will be handed over a prize of one crore rupees for this performance.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Maharashtra Olympic Association President and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar contacted the Olympian and his coaches Deepali Deshpande, and Vishwajit Shinde who are in Paris through the television system.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “Swapnil missed the silver medal by just 0.1 points. Still, his bronze medal has put a smile on Maharashtra’s face. Maharashtra has received a medal for individual achievement after 72 years.”
“Swapnil will be given a prize of Rs.1 crore for this performance. He and his coach, parents will be duly felicitated. Apart from this, Swapneel will be provided with all the necessary facilities for further preparation in shooting. Swapnil has created history with his performance. The hard work of Kusale’s family, his mentors, coaches, etc. has been important for this success.”
Further Olympian Swapnil Kusale said that, “A good foundation of shooting was laid while practicing at Krida Prabodhini in Pune. In my success, along with my family, coach Deepali Deshpande, my mother’s loving coach, Mr. Shinde has a valuable contribution.” Swapnil Kusale has been promoted to the post of Officer on Special Duty in the Sports Cell of Central Railway for winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Earlier he was working as a ticket collector. This is a huge achievement for the shooter.
