Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has predicted that Australia, England, and the West Indies will join India in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
The Indian team will play league-stage matches in the United States, marking the first time a major ICC tournament is held in America.
Ahead of the tournament, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar shared his predictions for the T20 World Cup. Speaking to Star Sports, Gavaskar named the four teams he believes will reach the semi-finals. The T20 World Cup is set to commence on June 2, with India playing their first match on June 5. Gavaskar considers India a strong contender for the title this year and has selected India, Australia, England, and the West Indies as his picks for the semi-finals. Notably, Gavaskar did not include Pakistan in his list of potential semi-finalists.
India won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. Pakistan claimed the title in 2009. England and the West Indies have each won the tournament twice, with England securing victories in 2010 and 2022, and the West Indies in 2012 and 2016. Other winners include Sri Lanka in 2014 and Australia in 2021. As the T20 World Cup kicks off, fans eagerly await to see which team will emerge victorious this time.
