In only his second Test, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel pulled the Indian team out of trouble with a brilliant knock of 90 runs. The innings saw great batsman Sunil Gavaskar praise Dhruv Jurel and said that the next MS Dhoni is in the making.
The Indian team was under pressure when Dhruv Jurel came into bat in the Ranchi Test match. However, Jurel performed a rescue operation along with Kuldeep Yadav by stitching together a 76-run partnership. Jurel eventually ended up scoring 90 runs from 149 balls and this prompted Gavaskar to say, ‘Looking at the conditions in which Dhruv Jurel scored 90 runs, the next Dhoni is being prepared for India.’ Dhruv Jurel scored an amazing 90 runs. Although he missed his century, he has won the hearts of all.”
Gavaskar also hailed Jurel’s work behind the stumps as a wicketkeeper and singled out his game awareness as one of his biggest strengths.
