Shreyasi Singh creates history first MLA to participate in Olympics

Bihar shooter Shreyasi Singh is making the headlines right now. She is the first MLA from India to participate in the Paris Olympics. She is also the first Bihari athlete to participate in the Olympics. The name of MLA Shreyasi Singh representing Jamui assembly constituency is currently in discussion. Bihar’s Shreyasi Singh has been selected for the Indian shooting team for the Paris Olympics.

Shreyasi’s medal hopes have increased since she participated in the Olympics. Shreyasi won a gold medal for India in the Commonwealth Games and now sports fans are expecting her to do well in the Olympics as well. Her grandfather Kumar Serender Singh and father Digvijay Singh were both presidents of the National Rifle Association of India during their lifetime.

Shreyasi hails from Gidhore in the Jamui district of Bihar. Her father Digvijay Singh was also a former Union Minister. Her mother Putul Kumari is also a former MP from Banka (Bihar). Shreyasi studied Arts from Hansraj College (Delhi) and completed her MBA from Manav Rachna International University (Faridabad).

Shreyasi Singh has won many medals while representing India in the trap shooting category and has enhanced the country’s reputation. She entered politics at the age of 30. Joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2020, Shreyasi contested the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. In this election, Shreyasi won by 41 thousand votes.
