Shreya Hippargi has made the country proud with her excellent performance. In the recently concluded Asian Youth Chess Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She won the bronze medal in the under-14 girls category in the Blitz chess tournament. The tournament saw 33 top chess players from 33 countries participate in the very intense Asian Youth Chess Tournament.
She was the 27th seed coming to the tournament. Shreya held a draw in the FIDE Women’s Candidate Master 2nd seed Uliana with an attractive game and creative moves. She secured 6.5 points out of nine to give India the third spot on the points system and win the medal as well. This is her sixth international medal in various international chess tournaments.
Shreya makes her parents proud
Earlier too, Shreya Hippargi achieved remarkable success at the national and international level by showing her finesse. She after achieving success in the Asian tournament, will participate in the World tournament to be held in Brazil.
Her parents father Guru Hippargi and mother Asha Rani have been encouraging her throughout her life. The young chess player is currently training with International Master Anup Deshmukh of Nagpur and Sumukh Gaikwad of Solapur.
The President, Secretary, and Vice President of Sangli District Chess Association as well as Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte Maharashtra Chess Association Secretary Niranjan Godbole, and President Parinay Phuke have also congratulated Shreya for her remarkable success.
