Chennai Super King all-rounder Shivam Dubey’s brilliant aggressive batting is currently being discussed. However, AB de Villiers has created a stir by stating that Shivam Dubey never played an explosive game while playing for RCB.
Shivam Dubey performed strongly in the match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. He scored a brilliant half-century against the Gujarat team. Earlier in the match against the RCB team, he played an important role in the team’s victory by playing an unbeaten knock of 34 runs. The 30-year-old all-rounder Shivam Dubey caught the attention of many cricketing legends with his explosive performances. Now former RCB cricketer AB de Villiers has made a big statement about Dubey.
Left-hander Shivam Dube was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant performance against Gujarat. Talking about Dubey’s performance, de Villiers said, ‘It’s great to see Shivam like this. He never played openly in RCB’s changing room. He was a very shy boy, worked very hard and asked a lot of questions during the day. I think he learned something. But he never felt comfortable there.’
In IPL 2022, Shivam Dubey scored 289 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 156.22. In the next season, he scored 418 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 158.33. Former South African player de Villiers added, ‘Dube talks about being free in the CSK team and there is a magic system that Dhoni, Gaikwad, Stephen Fleming and all the guys in the past have established there. It’s a workhorse of a franchise that works every time, every season, with new players who express themselves freely.’
Left-handed batsman Shivam Dubey started his IPL career with RCB in 2019. He played a total of 15 matches across the two editions. Out of this, Dubey scored only 169 runs at a strike rate of 122. After this, the franchise released him in IPL 2021 and he joined Rajasthan Royals. He scored 230 runs in nine matches. However, the franchise released him before IPL 2022. But Dhoni included him in the CSK team. Now there is a big change in his performance.
