Harshada Vanjare and Gargi Dongre triumph with gold in National School Fencing, showcasing excellence in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a display of outstanding fencing prowess, Harshada Vanjare and Gargi Dongre, representing the Junior Division of Shiv Chhatrapati College under the Marathwada Education Broadcasting Board, secured gold medals at the National School Fencing Competition.

The journey to this national triumph began with their success in the school fencing state-level competition, earning them a spot in the prestigious School National Fencing Competition held in Jammu and Kashmir.

Harshada Vanjare showcased her skill in the saber category, clinching the team gold medal, while Gargi Dongre excelled in the EP event, securing another team gold.

Applauding their achievement, the organization’s general secretary, MLA Satish Chavan, along with college development committee member Pradeep Chavan, principal Dr. R. P. Pawar, and Vice Principal Prof. Bharat Wahatoole extended their best wishes to both athletes for the upcoming national tournament.

Dr. Ranjit Pawar and Prof. Kishori Hiwarde, the Head of the Sports Department, along with Dr. Archana Kolhe, joined in the congratulatory messages.

While celebrating individual achievements, some argue that the education system should focus more on holistic development rather than emphasizing select sports.
