Shefali Verma has been an amazing talent for Indian women’s cricket. The explosive young opener has been excellent for the team. She has been participating in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup. During this, she has created a new history in the ongoing T20 cricket tournament. The opener becomes the first woman cricketer in the world to score 10 or more fifties at the age of 20 or under in women’s T20 international cricket.
Verma scored 81 runs off 48 balls against Nepal Women’s team. This is Shefali’s highest score in a T20 match. This is her tenth half-century. Shefali broke the world record with an explosive innings of 81 runs. The Indian opener also moved up four spots to stand in 11th position to tie with captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The opener is currently the highest run-scorer in the tournament so far.
India has already qualified for the semi-final of the tournament. They defeated Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal in the tournament. They will be facing Bangladesh or Thailand in the knockout stages. The Blues are favourite to win the tournament.

Verma has also completed 3000 runs in international cricket while scoring 81 runs. By achieving such a feat at the age of just 20, Shefali has surprised not only women’s cricket but also world cricket. At the same time, Shefali became the joint second batter to play the highest innings in the history of Women’s Asia Cup T20 International cricket.
In the same Asia Cup, Chamari Athapathu played an unbeaten knock of 119 runs, while India’s Mithali Raj scored 81 runs against Malaysia in 2018. Now Shefali has equaled Mithali Raj’s record by scoring 81 runs. Verma scored a brave half-century against the Nepal team.
She played a vital role in helping the team to a big victory by sharing a 122-run partnership for the first wicket with Hemalta. Shefali was awarded the Man of the Match award for this brilliant performance. She hit 12 fours and 1 six in his storming innings. The Indian team defeated Nepal by 82 runs to reach the semifinals.
