Sean’s Case Is A Wake-up Call For Questioning Hollywood’s Safety

Sean John Combs, also known by his stage name ‘Diddy’, formerly Puff Daddy, is all over the news but this time not for some rap song, but instead for notorious deeds. The singer has been accused of a mountain of lawsuits condemning several crimes in his past years till now.

Sean ‘Diddy’ was arrested on Monday after being charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Every crime mentioned is a serious crime and if proven right, it is safe to say the singer will not be seeing the open sky for a very long time. The “No Way Out”  singer which also earned him a Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album’ was considered to be one self-made army, from building a rap career to starting his own music label, Bad Boy Records. What went downhill for the singer? well, everything.

In November 2023, singer, Cassandra or ‘Cassie’ Ventura- her former partner filed a lawsuit against Combs. Cassie who was 19 years old at the time she met Combs, 37, where she was doing an internship in his record company ‘Bad Boy Records’ accused him of engaging in various allegations. She made an allegation of raping her, beating her, forcing her into sex trafficking, and asking her to go on board with some weird sexual act called “voyeurism”. The rapper denied all these allegations at first but when a CCTV Footage of him assaulting Cassie in a hotel corner was found, the singer apologized for his behavior in the footage.

This wasn’t where the matter ended, in March 2024, US authorities raided Comb’s properties in L.A and Miama as the part of an investigation for sex trafficking. Comb has been charged with racketeering conspiracy sex, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution as per unsealed indictment. Diddy was also accused of arranging a party where sex workers were involved, the lawsuit stated that Combs referred to these parties or arrangments as “Freak Off”. Just like the Epstein list, the rapper’s misdeeds or “Freak Off” were rumored to be linked with several high-profile celebrities such as Jay-Z, Rihanna, Leonardo Dicaprio, Beyonce, Ashton Kutcher etc. Months after being accused of sexual assault, American rapper Sean was arrested on September 17 in Manhattan.
