Sarabjot Singh rejects two offers; explains the reason for same

India has won a total of six medals in the Paris Olympics. They include one silver and five bronze medals. These medal-winning athletes are highly appreciated. These players are also getting honors and jobs from the state government. Meanwhile, a star athlete has rejected the state government’s job offer. Overall it has been a disappointing Olympics for the nation as many athletes finished fourth. 

India has won medals in shooting, hockey, wrestling and athletics. Athletes who have won medals for India are being highly appreciated and are also being honored by the state government. Meanwhile, a medal-winning athlete has refused to take up the job offered by the state government. The reason behind it has also been given by this player.

The name of the player who rejected the job offer is Sarabjot Singh and he is a resident of Dheen village in Ambala, Haryana. Sarabjot Singh along with Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal for India in the Mixed 10m Air Pistol shooting event at the Paris Olympics. They defeated the Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Wonho Lee by a margin of 16-10 to win the medal and made the whole of India proud. 

Sarabjot Singh has made his parents proud

Sarabjot Singh is the son of farmers Jatinder Singh and Hardeep Kaur. He has completed his education in Chandigarh. Earlier, Sarabjot Singh had won a gold medal for India in the Junior World Cup in 2019. At the same time, he was part of the Indian shooting team at the 2022 Asian Games and won a gold medal. Apart from this, Sarabjot Singh has won a silver medal for India in the Asian Games.

He has been offered the post of deputy director in the sports department by the Haryana and Punjab governments. Along with this, the Haryana government has also offered him a cash reward of Rs 2.50 crore. Haryana Sports Minister Sanjay Singh has announced this award.

The 22-year-old has rejected jobs offered by the Haryana and Punjab governments. Explaining the reason for this, Sarabjot said, “The job is good, but I will not do it now. I want to work on my shooting first. My family is also telling me to do well, but I want to shoot. I don’t want to go against some of my decisions, so I can’t do this right now.”
