Manchester United are making a formidable squad for the upcoming season. The INEOS management has made two big signings for the 2024/25 season. They are looking to add more firepower to the side. Matthijs de Ligt has been one of the transfer targets for the English club. They have brought back their former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and added him as an assistant manager alongside Erik ten Hag.
The former Dutch striker has bags of experience playing at Old Trafford. He will surely incarnate some of the experience he had playing at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’. Van Nistelrooy’s first task will be to get Marcus Rashford back to his best after making an instant impact on his United return. The winger had a horrifying 2023/24 season with the club. The management was up to sell the footballer in the summer window.
But they have given him a chance to improve his skills. Previously he was not on good terms with the head coach as well. The United manager punished the striker again in January after he missed training ahead of an FA Cup match against Newport County due to a trip to a nightclub in Belfast. Amidst all the chaos he needs to get back to his very best for the upcoming season.
Can Rashford get back to his 22/23 season form?
With his form declining, the winger will want to regain his original form. Rashford was excellent in the 2022/23 season. He was the star for United in every game played scored 30 goals and assisted 10 in 56 games across all competitions. He will look to get back to the very 22/23 form.
Nistelrooy is reported to be an excellent communicator who likes to speak with the players one-on-one. He was observed giving Marcus Rashford instructions. It’s a bold new coaching setup. United hopes Ten Hag can assist and achieve the kind of success that Van Nistelrooy enjoyed in his prime. It will be interesting to watch how the players perform during the entire season.
