Indian skipper Rohit Sharma credited the young and inexperienced members of the team for the Indian team’s historic win over England.
Chasing a target of 557 for victory on the fourth day of the third Test, India bowled out England for just 122 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. After India’s win, Rohit told the media, “It’s definitely a great feeling to win a match like this and especially with such a young team. We gave Sarfraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel a chance to make their Test debut and even in the playing XI the players have not played many Test matches.”
Yashasvi Jaiswal was one of the chief architects of the Indian win as he smashed a swashbuckling double century in the second innings. Commenting on Jaiswal’s performance, Sharma said that he wants the youngster to continue his attacking style of play. “‘I will not say anything about Yashaswi Jaiswal right now. Because everyone is talking about him. Let him play. He is playing well and that is good for us. Rohit said that he is in good form, I will not say anything else.”
