Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s international gymnast, Riddhi Praveen Hattekar, secured glory at the National Artistic Gymnastics Competition in Bhubaneswar, clinching two silver medals. Teammate Suhani Adane also seized a silver accolade.
In a collective effort, Riddhi Hattekar, Satakshi Persat, Shraddha Talekar, Ishita Rewale, Suhani Adane, and Rujul Ghodke propelled Maharashtra to a team silver medal in Artistic Gymnastics.
Riddhi Hattekar’s individual prowess shone as she claimed silver in the balancing beam event with an impressive score of 10.933. Ritu Das of West Bengal clinched gold with 13.167 points, while Olympian Pranoti Nayak secured bronze with 10.433 points. Satakshi Tale of Pune added another bronze to Maharashtra’s tally with a score of 11.533 in the floor exercise.
The Maharashtra team, under the guidance of Chief Coach Sanjay More at SAI NCOE Centre in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, had previously secured a team medal in the National Games in Goa, maintaining their stellar performance by grabbing silver this year.
Both Riddhi Hattekar and Suhani Adane honed their skills at SAI’s (NCOE) training center in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The success garnered accolades from various figures, including “Sai” director Dr. Monica Ghuge, Maharashtra Gymnastics Association President Sanjay Shete, Secretary Dr. Makarand Joshi, District Gymnastics Association President Adv. Sankarshan Joshi, and Shekhar Shirasath, Sports Head of Devagiri College.
These gymnastics competitions often lack the mainstream attention they deserve, given the athletes’ incredible skill and dedication.
