Reasons Why “Drops Of God” Won The Emmy And Not “The Night Manager”

The International Emmy Awards shine many’s hearts while breaking others. This time it was the Indians whose hearts got broken. The International Emmy Awards took place last night and it wasn’t one of the pleasant nights for us. The only entry from India- The Night Manager lost to the French-American-Japanese series. It’s a shame that the highly anticipated Indian adaptation of the series The Night Manager didn’t get to take home the trophy.

The event was attended just by Aditya Roy Kapoor and the director of the series. But the real question is was entering The Night Manager from India was really a good choice. Despite being a star-studded series with action and a not-so-unique concept with cliche dialogues the series didn’t top the chart. The series Drops Of God which won the Emmy had a really great concept with a unique blend of art, drama, and thriller. This unique series was based on fine wine. How creative that is. What helped Drops Of God stand out from others was how it’s filled with flavors of different languages and cultures, giving people a fresh international experience.

While The Night Manager failed to capture the slow-buildup story concept which made the British version so captivating for the audience. Drops of God was way more elegant than The Night Manager. The Night Manager struggled on many levels from poor narrative to a full adaptation of the British version. Drops of God wasn’t just about fine wine, it was also about family, legacy, and the tension between personal ambition and family inheritance. The Night Manager mostly relied on the fandom of Aditya Roy Kapoor using him as a brand to promote the series. Emmy demands much more than that. Overall Drops of God checked all the boxes which The Night Manager couldn’t to win the Emmy Awards.
