Real Madrid’s New Galacticos Are Destined For Failure

Real Madrid has assembled the greatest talents in the world in one team. Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr and now Kylian Mbappe all wear the famous white. Furthermore, they’ve got a manager who is an expert at getting the best out of his players. To many, this Madrid squad looks sure to succeed. However, things appearances can be deceiving. 20 years ago, Florentino Perez gathered the greatest players in the world to form the Galacticos. That was a failure. So much money spent and so little success. It was a lack of balance that downed the Galacticos and it may be the clashing of egos that will sink this new generation.

Kylian Mbappe Vs Vinicius Junior

Madrid finally got their man in the summer. Kylian Mbappe’s services were secured for free. Los Blancos has sealed the signing of arguably the best player in the world. A signing of this sort seems like a sure-shot move for success but things aren’t so simple. Kylian Mbappe’s preferred position is left wing. He thrives in that role. Real Madrid already have the best-left winger in the world in Vinicius Junior. Both players have big personalities and Mbappe in particular does not like playing striker. In fact, his refusal to play as a striker caused immense drama in the French National team. Vini Jr will not cede his position so easily, especially when he’s set to win the golden ball. Things will come to a head, sooner or later.

Madrid’s Dreams Are Doomed From The Start

Madrid have a long list of egos on their roster. Every player is a superstar in their own right and they wouldn’t like playing second fiddle to Mbappe. Dressing room drama has destroyed a team’s chance of success more often than not (just ask PSG). Real Madrid’s Galacticos project has failed once and it may very well fail again. Carlo Ancelotti will not be at Madrid forever. The start may be pleasant and flowery but things and people change over time. Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior will clash, and because of them, Real Madrid will fall off its perch.
