Raphael Varane has been one of the finest defenders of this generation. The French center-back started his career with RC Lens back in 2010. Then he was signed by Real Madrid where he successfully spent the prime time of his footballing career. At the Santiago Bernabeu, he won four UEFA Champions League, three La Liga, and as many UEFA Super Cup and Supercopa de Espana. The defender also won four FIFA Club World Cups and one Copa Del Rey.
The 31-year-old also won the FIFA World Cup 2018 and the UEFA Nations League 2020-21 with the Les Blues. His glittering career for Madrid came to an end as he left the Spanish club in 2021. The France International joined Manchester United. Here he spend three seasons with the club winning two FA Cups and one EFL Cup. He announced his international retirement in 2023.
This decision was right after the failure of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. His side lost in the final to Argentina. After spending three seasons at the Old Trafford he left the club and joined the newly promoted Serie A side Como. Under the managerial-ship of Cesc Fabregas, he played just one match and is thinking to suddenly call off his football career.

In my career I have taken on many challenges, rose to occasion after occasion, almost all of it was supposed to be impossible. Incredible emotions, special moments, and memories that will last a lifetime. Reflecting on these moments, it is with immense pride and a feeling of fulfillment that I am announcing my retirement from the game that we all love.”
