He was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards. The former India captain has led the U-19 team’s success during his time as an NCA chief. Numerous young stars like Rishabh Pant to Yashasvi Jaiswal have come through the ranks. The former India head coach gave India a base for the forthcoming years.

Appreciating India’s bench strength and ability to consistently produce quality players, Dravid said the next generation of players has successfully carried forward the legacy of the ‘Fab Five’. Rahul Dravid happy to work with Rohit and Surya

Speaking on the occasion, Dravid said “I got time to think about many things we have done. You sometimes realize that you have to do a lot of these things, you have to follow a process, you have to get everything right. Sometimes we just need a little luck. In the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, 30 balls were to be bowled and 30 runs were to be scored. Then it was a matter of Rohit executing the strategy well and maintaining composure. We haven’t focused on what we want to do, but we need a player who can do it within a certain limit. Sometimes it’s skill.”

He further added, “It’s great to go abroad and win. Led by the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav and leading the way in all formats of the game, I do not doubt that this generation will continue to do so in the future as well, said Rahul Dravid, former head coach of the Indian cricket team, praising the young generation of players. Dravid said “I quit cricket in 2011-12. This legacy has been carried forward by these players. If you look at the success we have had in all three formats of the game in the last 12 years, the period since we left is unprecedented.”
