Podar School thrash Millat School by 8 goals in Subroto Cup final

The Podar School team won the Under 15 category in the Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament. The Millat team became runner-up. The competition was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex. In the final match, Podar School team won the title by cruising against the Millat School team 8-0.

Over the years the International Football Tournament is a prestigious international inter-school football tournament. The tournament is named after the first Indian Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee. It has been held annually since 1960. This tournament is unique in that it features champion school teams from all states and international nations. Making it one of the most notable school-level football competitions.

Subroto Cup forthcoming season to start in August

It is a government school sports competition, only certificates are given to the athletes. However, the winning, runner-up, and third-place players were honored. With gold, silver, and bronze medals by the Football Association and Sports House.

Arvind Deshpande of Jain Sports Academy, Rajesh Jadhav of Athletics Association, Sports Guide Kishore Chaudhary, Dr. Anita Kolhe, Farooq Shaikh, Ad Aamir Shaikh, Abdul Mohsin, Podar Chhaya Borse of the association distributed the medals to the athletes.

The upcoming season of the tournament will start on August 5. It will feature the greatest school teams competing for pride and glory in the lively metropolis of New Delhi. The event will begin with an opening ceremony on the day. This will come after the U-17 (Junior) Girls’ division has begun.
