Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal has continued his impressive run of form by advancing to the semi-finals of the Perugia Challenger tennis tournament.
Seeded sixth, Nagal defeated unseeded Max Krasnikowski of Poland in the quarterfinals with a score of 6-4, 7-5.
In the upcoming semi-final match, Nagal will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between unseeded Bernabe Zapata Miralles of Spain and second-seeded Laszlo Zare of Serbia. This victory marks Nagal’s eighth consecutive win since the beginning of the Heilbronn Challenger in Germany.
Earlier in the tournament, Nagal triumphed over unseeded Norman Fatic of Bosnia-Herzegovina in the preliminary round and then defeated unseeded Alessandro Giannesi of Italy in the quarterfinals. Last week, Nagal claimed the Heilbronn Challenger title, his second Challenger trophy of the season, following his win at the Chennai Challenger in February.
Currently ranked 77th in the ATP singles rankings, Nagal’s position in next month’s Paris Olympics is now assured.
