Peaks of Glory: Maharashtra Teachers Scale Mount Elbrus, Set New Record

Sports teacher and mountaineer Kishore Navkar of Saraswati Bhuvan Prashala (Jalna) and Suraj Sulane, sports teacher and climber of Saraswati Bhuvan Prashala, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar town, Maharashtra have registered a new record.

Famous mountaineers Kishore Navkar and Suraj Sulane climbed Mount Elbrus (18510 feet), the highest peak in Europe. On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, sports teachers of Saraswati Bhuvan Educational Institution set a new international record by climbing Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe.

Kishore Navkar of Saraswati Bhuvan of Maharashtra is the first Indian sports teacher from Maharashtra to scale this highest peak. Suraj Sulane set a new record by climbing this peak in just three and a half hours. He undertook this expedition under the leadership of 360 Explorer Everest Veer Anand Bansode. Indian Cadet Force Commander Vinod Narwade guided them.

Due to this incomparable performance, both sports teachers Kishore Navkar and Suraj Sulane were recorded in the prestigious ‘The Ideal Indian Book of Records’. Kishore Navkar has previously scaled Mt Friendship (scaled twice), Kshitidhar, Kedar Dome, Seven Sisters, Patalsu, and Stok Kangri. Suraj Sulane has previously climbed Mount Friendship, Seven Sisters, Patalsu and Kshitdhar.

Saraswati Bhuvan Education Institute President Adv Dinesh Vakil and General Secretary Dr Srirang Deshpande, Treasurer Milind Ranade and Joint Secretary Dr Rashmi Borikar felicitated both the sports teachers and wished them good luck for their future achievements. Navkar and Sulane, the Maharashtra mountaineering duo are being showered with good wishes from the Saraswati Bhuvan family as they are the only sports teachers to achieve such a feat.
