Paris Paralympics 2024 villages are overrated than being more functional

The Paris Paralympics 2024 will make their way in a couple of days. Around 4,400 para-athletes will be taking part in the upcoming mega event. On Saturday, the athletes’ village was buzzing. Some athletes from 168 delegations settled into their temporary house, which had been made ready for their upcoming competitions. Paris previously hosted the Olympics 2024, it was a mix of success and controversy.

However, the organizers are very well aware of what happened in the Olympics a few weeks back, especially in the last couple of weeks, when several athletes were sent back home. Indian wrestler, Antim Panghal’s sister was taken by police in Paris for using the wrong Olympic accreditation. All of them were deported back to the country for breaking the rules and her accrued was also cancelled. The village has yet again been set up in the northern suburbs of Paris, in the Seine-Saint-Denis department.

The village was previously shut down on 13th August after the Olympics. This was done to make some necessary adjustments for the forthcoming Paralympics. Laurent Michaud has discussed the changes that the village needs and the meticulous transformation that has been done for the betterment of the para-athletes for the event.

Paris Paralympics management does amazing work

Is the village overrated or will the transformation be functional for the athletes? Previously there were a lot of controversies relating to the village issues. However, learning from the mistakes adjustments have been made. As per the Olympics head fine-tuning details are done to ensure that every aspect of the para-athletes’ are being met. Michaud said that all roadways, sidewalks, and access points are fully accessible for people with reduced mobility. It is a 100% accessible village.

The eye-catching significance was the additional ramps and enhanced lighting throughout the village. It has been done to make it easier for athletes to navigate, regardless of mobility or visual impairments. Sandy floors and grates are being covered with mats for wheelchair users. There have been motorized vehicles were also made available for wheelchair users. More often the accessibility has been made easier for the para-athletes so that they can move freely.
