India will send 117 players for the forthcoming Paris Olympics. It includes the highest number of 24 players from Haryana. Five athletes from Maharashtra have been selected for the Olympics. Maharashtra ranks seventh in the number of players. Haryana state tops the list of athletes selected for the Paris Olympics. Punjab is in the second position. This will be India’s 26th appearance at the Olympics.
The multinational tournament will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. So far the people of 1.44 billion nation has won a total of 35 medals in the Olympics. It includes 10 gold, 9 silver, and 16 bronze medals. India achieved its biggest-ever success in the Tokyo Olympics. They won a total of seven medals including one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals in the tournament.
