The trailer of Citadel-Honey Bunny just released and it looks interesting enough to give a watch. Citadel: Honey Bunny is an Indian Adaptation of the international Citadel Franchise stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The Amazon Prime Series is a fusion of spy action and romance with a pinch of Bollywood humor starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles.
The series is set against the 1990s backdrop with impressive chemistry between the two and an intense action sequence. When it’s directed by our renowned filmmakers Raj and DK, the casting has to be solid, as with Kay Kay Menon and Samantha Prabhu. The series will be a promising fresh experience for the audience as it tries to capture the signature storytelling flair of Raj&DK with the essence of the global franchise Citadel. When we talk about the cast Samantha Prabhu was the perfect choice for this series and I can tell you why.
The series demanded an actress who could do high-octane action sequences while maintaining the glamour. Samantha Prabhu has proved herself as one of the most versatile actresses currently working in the Industry. For instance, her role in “The Family Man 2” spoke volumes of how she can channel herself into any character she’s given. As I mentioned earlier, the role demanded mount of physical strength to do the action and we all are quite familiar with Samantha’s dedication towards physical training and character development, which ensures that she will bring depth and authenticity to the performance. Earlier Samantha was portrayed as this soft girl who checks all the boxes in her movies but now after The Family Man 2 and her “Item Song” in Pushpa, the tables have turned. Lately, Samantha has become a global sensation with a large fan following across the world, which will benefit the global scope for Citadel: Honey Bunny.
The “Judwaa 2” stars finally seemed to have found her forte in acting which is the action genre with slight humor. Varun Dhawan is finally set to make a banger comeback and a debut on OTT platforms. At first, when the casting was announced, people didn’t expect that Varun would do any justice to the role but what we can see in the trailer is, that Varun brings his charm and intensity to appeal to his fans and the audience at a broader level. Varun’s craze in the audience especially the younger audiences, aligns perfectly with Citadel’s aim to reach Indian viewers as well as global audiences. Not just the audience, the Amazon Prime executives themselves have expressed confidence that Varun Dhawan’s presence in the series will only draw more audience.
