No regrets about going unsold in IPL: Musheer Khan

Sachin Tendulkar’s record was broken at the age of 19. Played an important role in making the team champion. However, this player remained unsold in the IPL. The name of this player is Mushir Khan.

Mushir Khan is the younger brother of Sarfraz Khan who won everyone’s hearts by making his debut in the Indian team. Musheer Khan performed amazingly in the Under 19 World Cup Cricket Tournament. Then playing for Mumbai, Musheer Khan scored an all-round performance with a brilliant century and made Mumbai the Ranji champions.

Mushir Khan has made his mark in a short span of time with his all-round performance. However, Musheer Khan did not meet any buyers in the IPL. Musheer Khan says, “Although I did not get the IPL contract, I am happy to have another year to understand T20 cricket.”

19-year-old Mushir Khan believes that he will make a name for himself in the IPL in the coming years. Echoing the words of his father and coach Naushad Khan, Musheer told PTI in a video, “My name is not in the IPL. But I am not disappointed. My father has asked me to play Test cricket for the Indian team. Will play after IPL, not today but tomorrow. It’s good that I got another year to prepare for the IPL. I will now understand T20 cricket better and how I should prepare for this format.’

Musheer Khan scored 136 runs in Mumbai’s second innings in the Ranji Trophy final to set Vidarbha a target of 538 runs. With this, the Mumbai team managed to win the 42nd Ranji title. Surprisingly, Musheer took inspiration for this performance from his elder brother Sarfaraz, who debuted for India in the third Test against England in Rajkot last month.

Inspiration from brother
According to Musheer Khan, ‘I take a lot of inspiration from my brother after seeing his dedication and his batting. Our batting style is also the same. He told me before the Ranji Trophy final match to act like a normal match and not take too much pressure. Although it looked like a normal match from the outside, we felt the pressure on the field. Trust your skills and play accordingly, he said.
