Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has expressed that the legendary players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are irreplaceable.
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma recently announced their retirement from T20 cricket after India clinched their second T20 World Cup title. Going forward, they will only be seen in ODI and Test matches for India.
In an interview, Kapil Dev stated that no one can replace Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in T20 cricket because each player creates a unique position. He remarked, “No player can replace another. MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar were never replaced; new players come in and create their own identity. India can only hope to find players who might be even better.”
When asked which players he would like to see take over from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Kapil Dev responded, “That’s not my role. My job is to watch cricket. Selecting players is the job of the selectors. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to comment on that.”
