Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem to face in Lausanne Diamond League

Neeraj Chopra has been the star boy of India in recent years. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation after losing the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Neeraj Chopra and Pakistan’s gold medalist Arshad Nadeem will face each other once again in the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League. He was injured during the Olympics, but despite this, Neeraj managed to win a silver medal.

The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj won silver with a throw of 89.4 meters in Paris. Meanwhile, his arch-rival Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal with a throw of 92.97 meters. The ‘Golden Boy’ of India believes that it is not a big deal whether the javelin is raised by three or four meters or whether the javelin is hit well or not. It increases. Nadeem was excellent in the final in his final throw and also crossed the 90-meter mark

Talking about Arshad’s throw and his efforts, Neeraj said, “After Arshad’s javelin throw of 92.97 meters, I never thought I would not be able to do it. I never thought I couldn’t do it no matter what anyone thought.” He further said, “If we also talk about Arshad Nadeem, his best throw was 90.18m which he achieved in the Commonwealth Games.”

Neeraj Chopra heaps praise Arshad Nadeem

In the same Olympics, “he suddenly threw 92.97 meters and it’s not like I couldn’t do it. It was just that I couldn’t push myself enough. I was mentally prepared, but physically I held myself back. My legs weren’t working like they used to when I was running and efforts were in vain. My throw after Nadeem’s throw was excellent and I was positive.”

“However, as time progressed, physical barriers reappeared. I tried so hard, but unless your legwork is good, your technique is good, no matter how hard you try, it’s bad. There was not even a cent in my mind that this was not possible.”

The 26-year-old also confirmed that he will participate in the Lausanne Diamond League, which starts on August 22. Neeraj said, “Earlier I thought I would only participate in the Zurich Diamond League and then the Final Diamond League. But after coming here, I realized that there were not many injuries after Paris. Usually, it increases slightly after the competition.”

“However, this time we also took treatment at the right time. Meanwhile, Neeraj thanked his trainer Ishaan and said that he has been working with me since 2017 and I never felt weak. Always treated me right to make me feel good. So now it feels perfect so I have decided to play in the Los Angeles Diamond League.”
