Nashik University To Host Marathon Promoting Fitness and Well-Being

MUHS Health Run Marathon organized by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences has been organized on October 19. MUHS Health Run Marathon is organized to spread awareness that everyone should strive to stay healthy in today’s busy life. The last date for registering the names of the participants in this marathon competition is 30th September.

Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd), Chancellor of the University said, “Regular exercise is important for good health. Walking or running is essential for the young generation to stay physically fit and stress-free. If you walk regularly in the morning, the blood supply in the body remains smooth, so the chances of diseases like heart disease and diabetes are less. The university strives to increase the participation of students in outdoor sports as well.”

She also said that everyone should adopt regular exercise to get rid of mental stress. In this regard, Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Milind Nikumbh said that Health Run has been organized by the University. It is done to create awareness about health in the society with the concept of the Vice-Chancellor. Awareness will be given through Health Run to make everyone understand the importance of walking and running for good health.

Marathon helps in keeping fitness

Students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the university and colleges affiliated to the university will participate in this marathon competition. Dr. Nikumbh said that online registration for participation in the marathon competition has been started and the last date for registration is September 30. Dr. Rajendra Bangal, Registrar of the University, said that in the health run competition. The contestants have to complete ten kilometers, five kilometers, and three kilometers within the prescribed time.

He said that the competition will start on October 19 at 6 am on the route directed by the university. Pooja was done by Dr. Milind Nikumbh for Rodometer distance measurement for the Health for Run Marathon competition. Registrar Dr. Rajendra Bangal, Controller of Examinations Dr. Sandeep Kadu, Chairman of Sports Committee Adv Sandeep Kulkarni, Dr. Devendra Patil, NV Kalaskar, Brigadier Subodh Mulgund, Dr. Mrinal Patil etc were present on this occasion.
