Nagraj Revanasiddaiah and Sandhyarani Bandgar Ace the Solapur Tennis Tournament

Nagraj Revanasiddaiah and Sandhyarani Bandgar achieved a remarkable double crown victory, clinching titles in both singles and doubles categories at the Third World Ranking Lawn Tennis Tournament for Seniors, hosted by the Solapur District Lawn Tennis Association. This event took place at the MSLTA Tennis Centre, District Sports Complex, and Elysium Club grounds.

In the men’s singles over 60 category, Nagraj Revanasiddaiah showcased his prowess by defeating the second-seed Pawan Jain with an impressive 6-1, 6-1 victory. Continuing his dominant form in the doubles final, Revanasiddaiah, partnering with Arun Aggarwal, triumphed over second seeds Ravin Chaudhary and Pawan Jain with a score of 6-3, 6-0.

The women’s over-30 doubles final witnessed a similar level of excellence from Sandhyarani Bandgar and her partner, Vaibhavi Trivedi of Solapur. The duo overpowered the second seeds Nupur Pandey and Sanjana Rawal, delivering a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory to claim the title.

In the men’s over-65 category, top-seed Ajit Bhardwaj clinched the singles title by defeating second-seed Murthati Suresh in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. The mixed doubles category for players aged 35 and over saw top-seeded pair Rinku Kumar and Narendra Singh Chaudhary defeat Pranita Pednekar and Sunil Lulla with a score of 6-1, 6-3.

The over-65 doubles final had OP Dixit and Lalit Sharma emerge victorious against Ajit Bhardwaj and Veera Venkat Visgakoti, winning 6-2, 6-4. In the over-70s doubles, Ratnakarrao Anni and Dhaval Patel secured the title by overcoming Ramarao Dosa and Tahir Ali with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-2, 10-5.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Ganesh Pawar, the State Sports Guide, and Taluka Sports Officer Supriya Gadve. Rajesh Damani, President of the Solapur District Lawn Tennis Association, and the Honorary Secretary extended their congratulations to Sandhyarani for her outstanding performance. Sandhyarani Bandgar’s success is also attributed to her dedicated coach, Sudhir Salgude, who has played a pivotal role in her training and preparation.
