The Mumbai team bagged the top rank with 330 marks in the sub-junior and junior state-level selection test competition organized by the Maharashtra Swimming Selection Committee. So, the Pune team won the runner-up position with 280 points.
Pune’s Vedant Tandale (00.26.57s) bagged the first position in the 500m butterfly in the under-17 boys category in the event held at Tilak Swimming Pool in Pune. Also in the 100m butterfly Vedanta Tandale (00.57.04s) won the double crown by winning the title.
Mumbai’s Abir Seth (00.36.95 sec) won the Under-11 boys category in the 50m backstroke. Pune’s Arnav Kadu (00.29.68 sec) bagged the title in the under-14 boys category. Anisha Kale (00.37.73 sec) bagged the top spot in the under-11 girls category.
Sanvi Deshwal bagged the triple crown in the under-14 girls category. Sanvi clocked 50m breaststroke (00.35.54s), 50m backstroke (00.33.02s), and 200m breaststroke (02.50.78s) to win titles in all three categories. Pune’s Rijuta Rajgya clinched the title in 50m backstroke in girls’ under-17 category with a time of 00.30.69 seconds.
Gondia’s Yatharth Sangrame wins 4 medals
Apart from this, the best swimmer award went to Gondia’s Yatharth Sangrame (4 gold medals) and Thane’s Kabir Sonole (4 gold medals), Pune’s Arnav Kadu (5 gold medals) in the under 14 age group, Om Satam of Mumbai (2 gold, 2 bronze, 1 silver).
In the under-17 age group. medal, while in the under-11 girls category, Nidhi Samant of Thane (5 gold medals), Aditi Hegde of Nashik (5 gold medals), and Sanvi Deshwal of Mumbai (5 gold medals) in the under-14 category, and Dhriti Ahirwal (4 gold medals) in the under-17 category.
The prize distribution of the competition was done by Chairman Maharashtra Swimming Association Sudhakar Shanbaug, SFI Coordinator and Secretary Maharashtra Swimming Association Rajendra Palkar, and SFI Member Jai Apte.
