During the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Innovation Lab’s Leaders Meet India, McCullum shared his admiration for Rohit Sharma’s fearless approach to captaincy. He highlighted Rohit’s ability to take calculated risks, describing him as a captain who advances the game by leveraging India’s vast talent pool. McCullum emphasized Rohit’s success not only as the captain of India but also in leading the Mumbai Indians.
Speaking about Virat Kohli, McCullum acknowledged the batsman’s journey from being identified as a future superstar to becoming a billion-dollar international cricketer. Drawing from his experiences with RCB and facing Kohli on the field, McCullum praised Kohli for living up to the expectations of millions and consistently performing on the grand stage.
Looking ahead to the England tour of India in January, February, and March, McCullum expressed anticipation for the challenge of facing a formidable Indian team on their home turf. The five-match Test series between India and England is set to kick off on January 25, 2024, with the first Test in Hyderabad, concluding with the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala on March 11.
