Manu Bhaker who recently showcased her talent and made India proud by winning two Bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024, turned out to be a wannabe model too. Manu Bhaker walked the ramp for Marks&Spencer at Lakme Fashion Week. Bhaker opted for a black leather dress with a green sweater hanging over her shoulders. Manu Bhaker went viral on social media for her rampwalk in which she also strikes her signature pose. Bhaker shared the video of her runway walk on her social media platform as well, where she received love from some and hate from others.
The internet has mixed opinions of Manu Bhaker’s appearance as a showstopper for Marks&Spencer, some called her confident and stylish while other didn’t like her being chosen to walk the ramp. Many users appreciated the fact that she got out of her comfort zone and tried something new and fresh, on the other hand, she was criticized by many for participating in a Fashion show.
Manu Bhaker’s fans surely came in her defense, one user wrote, “You deserve all of this and more. It’s strange to see people trolling her for getting attention. She deserves it all. If you compare what cricketers get for their achievements, you’ll realize this is still quite modest. Wishing you more success and hope you continue making India proud.” Manu Bhaker didn’t keep quiet for long, the 22-year-old Olympic Medalist took her social media handle to respond to the fans as well as the haters. Manu Bhaker shared a post on her story, which said, “Wow, thank you guys for some good words. Also quite some haters I see.” She added an encouraging and motivational message for people to pursue their dreams without letting negativity hold them back. She said, “Don’t limit yourself to anything; make your life big and your career shiny. There’s no shortcut to success, so why settle for easy things when you have the strength to take on challenges? Cheers.”
I personally think fashion shows are meant for the models, the same way sports are meant for a sportsperson. We all have a job we’re good at, which is not about limiting ourselves but it’s more about letting people do their jobs while we do ours.
