India’s shooter Manu Bhaker, who created a new history by winning two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, will now try her skills in horse riding, Bharatanatyam, and skating during the break. She injured her shooting hand when a pistol recoiled during continuous practice. She has now taken a break of three months. But it won’t be a holiday for her.
There will be no change in Manu’s daily routine. The 22-year-old will wake up at six in the morning and do yoga. Apart from this, she likes to pursue some of her hobbies which include horse riding, skating, Bharatanatyam, and violin practice. The shooter opens up about her career with her coach and legendary shooter Jaspal Rana. Manu, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, said “Now that I have a break, I can practice martial arts again. I didn’t have that much time before, but now I can make time for my hobbies.”
She also added, “I love horse riding, skating, and fitness workouts. Apart from this, I am learning Bharatanatyam. I love Indian dance styles. I am also learning to play the violin.” After Manu revealed his bucket list for this break, coach Rana, replied “Who said no to horse riding, had a smile on his face. Rana said that she should not do skating and horse riding. Because she will be responsible if anything happens. Who sits on a horse thinking that he will fall?”
Jaspal Rana gave a break to Manu Bhaker for an injury
Manu further said, “I was waiting for the Olympics to end. I want to ride a horse. I also want to do skydiving and scuba diving, waited for a long time for this.” Coach Rana said, “Due to this injury, we are giving her a break of three months.”
Rana further added, “She has had this wound for the last eight months which is still not healed. So rest is important. We took this decision long before the World Cup was announced. During this break, she will not only shoot but also do yoga in the morning. Manu will not play in the ISSF World Cup finals and national tournament to be held in Delhi in October.”
