Out with the Old: United Undergoes Ruthless Player Purge

Manchester United are in a period of transition. They’ve been in transition for the last 10 years. However, this time, the story is a little different. In earlier seasons, The Red Devils would approach a transition by sacking the manager and hoping for a new name to turn things around. It was always the same story. The fans would take out their Norwich scarves and go out in hordes to protest against the Glazers. Chants of “Sacked in the morning” would echo across Old Trafford. This happened first with Louis Van Gaal replacing David Moyes and then the special one. Many pundits and fans predicted Erik Ten Hag to meet that same fate. Like so many before him, he’d be discarded and his career would be destroyed. But Manchester United are finally taking a different approach. Rather than offloading the manager, they are offloading the players.

Summer Sale At Old Trafford

The Reds are going to have a big summer transfer window. Raphael Varane is already gone and other big names such as Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat are sure to follow. Over the years, many managers have complained about the players at the famous club. It is alleged that these current crop of Reds do not care about the badge, their only concern is their paycheck. Players such as Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial epitomize this. Despite the abundance of egotistical, arrogant, money-hungry maniacs, some good players are committed to the club. Kobbie Mainoo is one such player, alongside him, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho can form the base that United needs to build around. Bruno Fernades, despite his petty antics, is a crucial player. Even Marcus Rashford, when his head is out of the sand is a crucial player for the club. Manchester United must keep these players.

New Era For Manchester United

Although this season was a dark one, the future may still be bright. With the acquisition of Manchester United by Ineos from the Glazers and a lot of additions to the management, a new dawn is coming. Ten Hag, despite his arrogance and lack of accountability, is the only man who can turn this situation around. Most importantly, fans must have faith. Turning around the fortunes of the biggest club in the world isn’t instant. It takes lots of time and lots of patience. The fans must support their club through thick and thin as they have done before. As Ten Hag said, “Eras come to an end”. Klopp’s era at Anfield has already come to an end. Now the real battle begins, Manchester isn’t big enough for two bald managers with questionable man-management.
