Mahindra joins hands with Super League Kerala as title sponsor

Super League Kerala (SLK) has announced Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the Indian SUV manufacturer as their title sponsor. The football league is set to commence on September 7, 2024, at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi. It will be known as the Mahindra Super League Kerala. This is the inaugural season of the football league and will feature some of the finest footballers from the state. 

It will be an exciting event in Kerala’s 2024 sporting calendar. Six franchise teams named, Forca Kochi FC, Malappuram FC, Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC, Kannur Warriors FC, Calicut FC, and Thrissur FC will be competing for glory. The tournament will feature the six teams fighting across four venues in the state, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Manjeri. Mahindra joined the esteemed list of partners. It also includes DafaNews, Eastern as an official associate sponsor, and Amul as the official powered by sponsor.

There will be 33 matches played among the teams. However, it will not be coming under the Indian football league system or the All India Football Federation. The champions will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 crore and the runners-up will get Rs 50 lakh. Fans can catch all the action live on Star Sports 1 and Hotstar. 

Mahindra’s love for sports continues

Mahindra’s association with the Super League Kerala represents the brand’s deep connection to the state of Kerala, which is known for its rich cultural legacy and passion for sports. They will help to raise the SLK’s profile and promote its growth. The collaboration would also help to build football infrastructure and talent in Kerala. They have other partnerships with IPL, FIFA World Cup, ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, and IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. This shows their love for sports as well. 

SLK Director Firoz Meeran said The league will be a game-changer for Kerala and the country. The fans will be coming in numbers to witness the first match of the debut season. The inaugural match is scheduled between Forca Kochi and Malappuram FC.
