In a dazzling display of skill and determination, Maharashtra emerged victorious at the 67th National School Fencing Competition held in Jammu and Kashmir. The boys and girls from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar showcased their fencing prowess, securing an impressive tally of eight medals, including six gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Tejas Patil exhibited exceptional prowess, clinching two gold medals in both individual and team events in the file category. Kashish Bharad mirrored this success with two gold medals in team and individual competitions. Rohan Shah contributed to the team’s triumph with a gold medal and an individual silver.
Harshada Vanjare achieved glory in the saber category, securing a gold medal for the girls’ team. Gargi Dongre showcased her prowess in the EP category, earning another gold medal for Maharashtra. Yash Wagh added to the medal haul with a bronze in the EP individual category.
The stellar performance of these athletes was guided by the expertise of coaches Sanjay Bhumkar, Sagar Magare, Tushar Aher, and Swapnil Tangde. Recognizing their achievement, Satej Patil, President of Maharashtra Fencing Association, along with officials including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Deputy Sports Director Sanjay Sabnis, Maharashtra State Fencing Association General Secretary Dr. Uday Dongre, District Sports Officer Bajirao Desai, and District Fencing Association President S.
