The separation of Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya was the most highlighted topic of the town back in 2021. The couple first met on the set of their debut Film “Ye Maya Chesave” in 2009. The on-screen chemistry soon transformed into a strong bond or friendship. The couple always kept tight-lipped about their relationship until they confirmed it in 2016.
Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got married in a huge ceremony combining the ceremony with both Hindu and Christian traditions. They were one of the most admired couples in Tollywood until they decided to part ways in 2021. The couple took their social media platform to announce the separation citing mutual respect and asking for privacy from the fans. Despite all the controversies, their reason for divorce remained private with both the actors choosing to remain silent on the matter.
In 2024, the matter again saw the public light when Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made some allegations about Samantha and Chaitanya’s divorce. She claimed that the couple split up because of political pressures, pointing out that BRS leader K.T Rama Rao was involved in their divorce. These allegations arose political tensions, concerning both the actors Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya.
Responding to the issue the actress said “My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn’t invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so,” Ms. Prabhu added.
Naga Chaitanya also slammed the minister for making their private matter a political agenda-“ The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults,” he wrote.
Naga Arjun, Naga Chaitanya’s father has decided to take the matter into legal hands, filling a defamation case against Konda Surekha. It is about that the act pulled out by the minister is a political agenda, as celebrities are the easiest way to get reach.
