Kho-Kho Kings & Queens: Maharashtra Storms into Nationals Semis

Maharashtra’s Kishor and Kishori team has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing 34th Kishor-Kishori National Championship Kho-kho tournament at the Albert Ekka Stadium in Pushpur. In the semifinals, the Maharashtra girls’ team will face Rajasthan while the boys’ team will play against Odisha.

In the quarter-final match held on Tuesday morning, the Maharashtra girls’ team won against the Vidarbha girls’ team by 1 innings and 20 runs. Maharashtra’s Siddhi Bhosale 3.00 m, Vedika Kamkhede 2.00 and 1.30 m. Conceded 1 wicket while defending. Shravani Tamkhede scored 2.00 m in both innings respectively. and 1.40 m. 3 wickets while defending unbeaten. Gauri Yadav and Iswari Sutar took 3 wickets each. While from Vidarbha team, Durga Gavtade 1.30 m. Conceded 1 wicket while defending.

In the other girls’ match, Rajasthan entered the semi-finals with a 6-point win over Punjab. Karnataka narrowly beat Chhattisgarh by 2 points. Tamil Nadu beat West Bengal by 2 points. The second semi-final will be between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

In the boys’ quarter-final match, the Maharashtra boys’ team defeated West Bengal by 28 points to enter the semi-finals. Maharashtra’s Prasad Belip hit 3.30m in the first innings. Protection and Vinayak Bhange 2.20 m protected. Bhim Singh Vasave 1.30 m. and 1.40 m. Gave defence time and took 5 wickets in the attack. Suyash Chavan took 6 wickets and Mayur Jadhav 3 wickets.

In the other quarter-final, Telangana defeated Andhra Pradesh, Odisha defeated Karnataka and Telangana defeated Delhi. With the Semifinals set up the upcoming clashes will be ones to watch out for with all 4 teams in contention looking to win the all-important 34th Kishor-Kishori National Championship Khokho tournament.
