Kaustubh Jagushte and Faizan Abdul Rehman emerged victorious in their respective categories at the 32nd Junior Mumbai District Carrom Championship. The competition, held at the Central Railway Institute in Dadar, was organized by the Mumbai District Carrom Association in collaboration with the Central Railway Institute Dadar.
In the under-18 boys category, Kaustubh Jagushte of ‘AKF’ triumphed over Mohammad Naveed Shaikh, also from ‘AKF,’ with scores of 17-11 and 18-0 in the final match. Demonstrating exceptional skill and strategy, Jagushte dominated both sets, securing the championship title.
In the under-21 boys category, Faizan Abdul Rehman of ‘AKF’ clinched the title by defeating Sarthak Nagaonkar of DKCC. Rehman won in straight sets, with scores of 18-7 and 15-14. The closely contested final highlighted Rehman’s ability to perform under pressure and his tactical prowess on the board.
The winners were honoured in a ceremony by prominent members of the Mumbai District Carrom Association, including Vice President Yatin Thakur, Honorary General Secretary Arun Kedar, Joint Secretary Sanjay Barve, and Central Railway Institute member Pednekar. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and the association’s commitment to promoting young talent in the sport of carrom.
The championship provided a platform for young players, like Kaustubh and Faizan to showcase their talents and compete at a high level.
