The Maharashtra Cricket Team for the Colonel C. K. Nayudu Under-23 Cricket Tournament has been revealed, with Kaushal Tambe appointed as the captain. The elite Group C of the Nayudu Trophy includes Maharashtra, set to kick off their campaign against Punjab from January 7 to 10 at Mullanpur.
Maharashtra Cricket Association Secretary Shubendra Bhandarkar unveiled the team, comprising players like Yash Jagdale, Digvijay Jadhav, and Harshal Kate. The squad is geared up for a series of matches, facing Punjab, Saurashtra, Assam, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tripura, and the Chandigarh team in league matches from February 18 to 21.
While these tournaments provide a platform for emerging talent, critics argue that more initiatives are needed to elevate regional cricket’s overall standard.
